On the night of February 29 - March 1, 2020, Ugo Russo, a 15-year-old boy from Quartieri Spagnoli, was shot and killed by an off-duty carabiniere after an attempted robbery of a Rolex with a toy gun. Several gunshots, four or five, were fired by the carabiniere against Ugo and the boy who was with him; Ugo was hit in the chest and shoulder, and a third, fatal shot hit him in the back of the head. The body was found several meters from the car, and the accusatory hypothesis was immediately that of voluntary manslaughter. But then more than a year of deafening silence followed, even on the results of the autopsy.
